Home energy saving campaign kicks off in Invergordon
11 August 2010
Householders in Invergordon are to be offered free home energy checks to help them save £300 a year off their energy costs.

A postcard campaign by the local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre, promoting the advice centre’s 0800 512 012 number, will this month reach around 1,300 households in the town.

Householders can phone the number, free from landlines, to complete a home energy check, to give them a personalised home energy report containing top tips on how to potentially increase their income, cut their fuel bills and heat their home.

The advice centre is also offering to refer callers for a free home insulation survey to measure the energy efficiency of their property.

Householders can also find out more information by coming along to an energy advice surgery from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 14 August in the Arts Centre, High Street, Invergordon. An energy advisor will attend the event to provide tips on insulating their property and reducing energy consumption in the home.

The advice centre, funded by the Scottish Government, is also working with the local community group Invergordon and District Initiative. The group will help publicise the campaign around Invergordon at events and community venues.

Householders can also find out more about the Scottish Government’s Energy Assistance Package, which could help them to increase their income, cut their fuel bills and heat their home by calling the advice centre and speaking to an energy advisor on 0800 512 012.

Householders with any questions about energy efficiency, renewable energy or sustainable transport can call the local Energy Saving Scotland advice centre for free, impartial advice on the same number or by email at energyadvisors@hi.energysavingscotland.org.uk.
